Mike Taylor

Mike Taylor is one of the top family law trial attorneys in the state of Missouri and Kansas. Mike is the co-author of four chapters of the Missouri Bar Foundation’s two-volume Family Law Desk Book set which is used by family law judges and attorneys across the state. He is a fellow of the prestigious American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Very few family law attorneys in the State of Missouri have achieved this distinction. Mike has been regularly recognized by his peers in the top one percent of all attorneys who have designated him a Preeminent AV Lawyer indicating the highest level of skill and integrity. He has been selected as being in the top five percent of all lawyers in Missouri and Kansas by his inclusion by Super Lawyers.
He was recently recognized as one of the top ten family law attorneys in the State of Missouri by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys and was recognized by 435 Kansas City’s Magazine as one of the Nation’s Best Family Law Attorneys in the Kansas City Metro area. Mike was presented the Lon O. Hocker Memorial Trial Lawyer Award by the Missouri Bar Foundation, which is presented to select trial attorneys who have demonstrated unusual proficiency in the art of trial advocacy. He has been named to the National Trial Lawyers Top One Hundred Trial Lawyers, named to the Best Lawyers in America list, is a certified member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, and has been designated a life member of the National Registry of Who’s Who in American Law. Mike is also a Missouri-approved family law mediator having met the requirements established by the Missouri Supreme Court.

Logan Taylor

Logan Taylor, is an associate trial attorney. Her area of emphasis is family law and civil trial practice. Born and raised in St. Joseph, Missouri, Logan attended Central High School and graduated in 2012. She then attended Northwest Missouri State University, graduating with a Bachelors in Political Science and a minor in Business. She then attended Washburn School of Law, where she pursued an emphasis in family law and trial advocacy. Logan is a former Buchanan County Assistant Prosecuting Attorney and handled thousands of criminal law matters. Logan also appreciates the difficult and emotional issues facing clients dealing with a dissolution matter, particularly where children are involved. Logan is a certified Guardian Ad Litem as provided by the Missouri Supreme Court. Logan is licensed in Missouri. Logan is available to help with any family law matter you and your family might need.

Kailee Smith

Kailee Smith, is an associate trial attorney. Her area of emphasis is family law and civil trial practice. Born and raised in St. Joseph, Kailee attended Central High School and graduated in 2005. She then attended the University of Missouri and graduated cum laude in 2009 with Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Political Science and Psychology.

Kailee attended law school at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, where she received her Juris Doctorate in 2012. While in law school she clerked for the Douglas County Attorney’s office in the Juvenile Division where she regularly assisted attorneys in court under Rule 13. Kailee then moved to New Hampshire with her husband, Mike, where she worked for Boies Schiller Flexner on large scale antitrust, securities fraud and products liability litigation. Kailee is licensed in Missouri and New Hampshire. Kailee, her husband, and their three children, live in St. Joseph, Missouri. Kailee is available to help with any family law matter you or your family might need.

Assisting Mike and Logan are paralegals Suzy Ware and Teresa Wright. Suzy has been Mike’s family law paralegal for more than thirty-six years. Our family law paralegals care about clients as passionately as Mike and Logan. Their role is to assist clients and our attorneys with case and trial preparation.
